RF cables in rotary swaging technology

ROTARY SWAGING is the new patented technology from Huber+Suhner that allows for combining the best electrical performance of a cable with the best mechanical properties.

How is this achieved?

In traditional cables, the best electrical characteristics are obtained by using a solid central conductor, which allows the signal to follow a linear path, whereas with a multi-wire central conductor, the signal would follow a more erratic path. However, this results in certain mechanical stiffness and lower phase stability performance.

Huber+Suhner has solved this problem by using a multi-wire central conductor and applying a “compression” process (ROTARY SWAGING) that makes it similar to a solid central conductor.

In this way, a cable is obtained that combines the best features of the previous cables (electrical and mechanical), while using the same connectors.

Comparison of Characteristics (Swaging vs Multi-wire):

-30% Attenuation
+20% Power
Better Return Loss
Same Phase Stability
Same Flexibility
Same Connectors
Same Price
